"ZACHOR" (Holocaust remembrance piece)

Each colored stroke at the bottom forms a flame leading to shamayim (heaven).



Each color represents 1 million Jews that perished. (six million in total)

Different colors signify all the different types of Jews that perished.

The wording is from Pitum Haketoret.
Each word in 23 karat gold describes the essence of each and every Jew and they are:
Tahara (purity)
Tikvah (hope)
Rachamim (mercy) and finally
Kedusha (holiness).
Together they spell the word KETORET
Ketoret is the transliteration of the Hebrew word קטרת , which is translated, in English, as incense. The word ketoret means bonding or connecting. This bonding, as we shall see, is necessary to build the unity of the coming of Moshiach. Ketoret is a substance which is associated with joy, prayer, and protection. Clearly, ketoret is a most unusual substance!

At the top right of the piece is a seal of Yerushalayim in 23 Karat gold leaf.
This seal with the menorah symbolizes the holy land of Israel which became our home land again after the holocaust and the menorah that was used in the Bait Hamikdash

One of the most fundamental and important characteristics of a Jew is hope and emunah. We hope and pray that G-d  bring the 3rd Bait Hamikdash with Moshiach speedily in our days.
 

Size is approx: 25 X 33 this is the size of the piece inside the frame. So you can see that after framing this turns into a very large, very nice sized piece.
